I couldn't install audio realtek driver in my acer 4720. I bought it last week that comes with pre-installed windows vista. for me, i'm still prefer to use XP. So I install XP using your guides and tips. I can successfully install. But when I try to install sound, it gives me "realtek driver install faliure" and I still cant' hear any sound from my laptop. when I check device manage, there is high defination audio bus is not working properly.

Can u guide me how u solve this problem?

a few weeks ago, my lecturer had this problem too...(Aspire 4520) he just try another Windows XP installation disc... (for example if you use Windows XP july 2007 and you got this problem, you may try windows xp august 2007 - different updates) and please install audio driver before bluetooth driver. I dont know why.. but its work.. ;p

its just now, coz the unit got a virus, so it was reformatted and changed to winxp coz it seems more ok..but the audio driver didnt work. bout what u said installing audio before bluetooth..i did that too.. and still stuck.. :(

TApi kenapa pada saat installasi keluar tulisan "you must install acer framework 2.0" or something like that. Bisa tolong kasi solusi??

Long before I install windows-SATAdriver integrated, I have already instal my Acer 4710 with Windows XP. And there
was no problem with my sleep button, my notebook was able to hibernate. Also there was no (!) sign on my Mobile Intel(R) 945GM/GU Express Chipset Family.

Here's what happen : at the device manager there was : 1.Video controller, 2.Video controller (VGA compatible), and 3.Network controller; with (?) marks on them....
Then I "update driver" them.

No software found for no.3, for no.1 and 2 they were changed (updated) into Mobile Intel(R) 945GM/GU Express Chipset

BUT, the update wizards said "cannot start this hardware". Can you explain what is happening???
Because I didn't experienced that problems back when I was using the original Wnidows XP.

So these are the problems of mine:
1. Cannot hibernate/standby
2. (!) sign on my Mobile Intel(R) 945GM/GU Express Chipset Family
3. Network controller???

please Mr.cahya please help me. I've already tried to uninstal the USB imaging device, but nothing change.

hello, i have a acer aspire 5570z, on the box it said 5570-2758. When I got the laptop, the bluetooth was working right away. Al I had to do was push the button and yep, worked. however after I had to reinstall Vista, the bluetooth is not working at all any more. I tried to install just the bluetooth driver, restart, nothing, I laded the stuff from acer down, installed it, reboot, nothing. Can you tell me what I'm missing here? no when I push the button it says on the screen (the blend in display in green letters0 NO DEVICE.

Hi Mr. Cahya, i just bought an Aspire 4520 myself. Was doing just fine till i installed the game Jade Empire. Was halfway playing it when everything went black although the music was on. So i check the jade empire config, and it says Jade Empire will not run properly becos the driver for my display adapter is too old, needs to be updated. I tried updating it using the cd driver by acer given when the notebook was bought but to no avail.
ive also tried going into the acer’s website to look for the driver. And i dont have a direct internet connection for my notebook. So can’t enable the search function using the web browser.
Any suggestions?

I was able to install Windows XP on my Aspire 4310 but when I tried to install the Intel 943 chipset driver from the DVD, it wont. The USB ports also dont function.

My system (4710) is having problem with Bluetooth now. I successfully transferred some files to other Dell Laptop and to a Nokia mobile, but can’t get any file from them. They get the error message as “no device found”, though two system are connected via Bluetooth.

Saya pengguna Aspire 4520 TL-58. OS yang saya gunakan adalah Vista Home Edition. Memori sudah saya upgrade 4 Gb. Yang mau saya tanyakan :

1. Saya kurang puas dengan performa GPU yang terdapat pada seri ini? Apakah bisa di"switch" dengan seri lainnya? Kalau tidak bisa mengapa? kalaupun menggunakan chipshet khusus, apakah tidak bisa dikanibal dengan chipset vga lainnya yang tardapat pd laptop bermerk lainnya yang lebih powerfull?

2. Mungkin anda pernah mendengar fasilitas graphic support dari Asus yang external, khusus untuk pengguna Notebook? Apakah bisa diaplikasikan ke laptop saya? Apakah tidak crash dengan VGA yang ada? Tau g Harganya?

3. Kenapa saya tidak bisa melakukan fungsi HIBERNATE? sudah saya update semua empowering technology dari blog anda, juga saya mengikuti semua permasalahan yang post ke blog anda. (dari yang sebelumnya seri 4270 bisa di update biosnya, apakah seri 4520 juga harus update Bios-nya?) Mohon linknya ya.

4. Bagaimanakah cara penggunaan baterai yang benar? Rumor yang saya dengar bertentangan satu dengan lainnya. a) jangan melakukan cabut/pasang power seenaknya pd saat laptop digunakan. Harus mati dahulu. (padahal kerja saya menuntut laptop harus on terus) b) Gunakan baterai sampai minimal kemudian caz ampe penuh (100%) kemudian cabut dan gunakan lagi sampai minimal. Saya sangat bingung sekali, mana yang benar untuk Aspire 4520 saya? Apakah benar per merk beda perlakuan baterainya. (sudah saya baca di manualnya, akantetapi masih tidak jelas, mohon penjelasannya)

5. Pada sticker di dashboard Aspire 4520, terdapat keterangan empowering tech yang salah satunya adalah Acer Deluxe. Apakah ini sekedar stiker aja, atau memang nadakah fungsinya? Apakah memang bisa digunakan untuk Aspire 4520? Mohon Penjelasannya.

1. GPU pada Acer Aspire 4520 adalah GeForce seri 7000M.. saat ini saya belum pernah menemui seseorang yang mengganti GPU pada laptopnya karena pada laptop berbeda dengan komputer desktop yang GPU nya dipasang pada sebuah slot (PCI express atau AGP). Seandainya bisa, saya kira biaya untuk mengganti GPU akan sangat tidak efisien.

2. VGA eksternal dari Asus memang ada, gambar nya disini masuk ke port Express card. Saya kira itu bisa diaplikasikan ke laptop apa saja selama laptop itu ada slot express card, akan terdeteksi sebagai VGA kedua. Untuk VGA eksternal yang express card ini saya belum pernah menjumpai, selama ini saya baru menjumpai VGA eksternal yang lewat port USB, dan menurut saya VGA eksternal via port USB tidak akan lebih baik dari GPU yang ada di laptop Aspire 4520 karena USB tidak akan mampu melewatkan bandwidth data yang besar. Jika anda berdomosili di Yogyakarta, VGA eksternal via USB bisa dibeli di Alnect Computer (info@alnect.biz), untuk harganya silahkan kontak mereka via email.

3. Untuk masalah hibernasi sebenarnya tanpa Empowering Technology pun bisa. tapi dengan Empowering Technology bisa lebih mudah. Jika tetap bermasalah bisa dicoba dengan update bios, Bios untuk Aspire 4520 (Download disini)

4. Mencabut power saat laptop digunakan adalah tidak masalah. Yang perlu diperhatikan adalah jangan mengisi (charge) baterai laptop saat isi baterai lebih dari 10%. Jadi ketika power laptop dicabut dan baterai balum habis, maka gunakan sampai kurang atau sama dengan 10%, maka silahkan memasang charger laptop kembali.

Proses charger bisa dengan laptop kondisi hidup ataupun mati.

Dan hindari memasang charger pada waktu yang lama padahal baterai sudah full. Jika laptop digunakan pada waktu yang sangat lama, oleh Acer direkomendasikan melepas baterai sehingga laptop hanya hidup dengan power dari charger saja. Hal ini membuat baterai lebih awet.

Sesekali memang diperlukan kalibrasi baterai laptop (battery calibration) untuk detilnya silahkan serach di blog ini.

5. Acer Arcade Deluxe adalah software yang biasanya disertakan Acer jika anda membeli laptop dengan windows Asli yang sudah terinstall. Gunanya adalah untuk aplikasi multimedia, seperti menonton video, TV, musik , dsb.

Sedikit tambahan.. untuk memaksimalkan performa GPU pada Aspire 4520, silahkan masuk ke BIOS (tekan F2) kemudian atur settingan besar memory untuk GPU menjadi 256 MB. Atur juga settingan di nvidia Control panel untuk mematikan fitur penghematan baterai sehingga GPU bekerja secara penuh. Jangan lupa settingan profile di ePower Management dibuat Maximum Performance. :)

sebelumnya saya ucapkan terimakasih banyak sekali karena anda sudah menjawab ketidaktahuan saya sebelumya. Tapi ada beberapa hal lagi yang ingin saya tanyakan, saya harap anda tidak keberatan. Perkenalkan, nama saya Adrian (menyambung pada pertanyaan saya tgl 8 April 2008, 10:14).

1. Sebenarnya saya sudah ada updated biosnya, akan saya jalankan, tetapi apakah aman, bung... Soalnya ada temen saya yang kebetulan updated bios (mungkin juga versinya beda dgn yang diupdated) trus crash dan tidak bisa digunakan lagi. Mohon penjelasannya.

2. Sedangkan untuk Hibernasi, saya sudah coba untuk mencari settingannya di vista saya, tapi anehnya, tidak ada yang berkenaan dengan hibernasi. di Power Option, ada beberapa opsi yang bisa dipilih apabila "closing the lid". Akan tetapi pilihan yg ada hanya "sleep-shutdown". Sekedar untuk pemberitahuan saja ke Bung Cahya.

3. Mengenai maksimal transfer rate via USB. Seandainya memang bisa via USB port (graphic card ASUS), yang saya ingin tanyakan, berapakah tranfers rate maksimal yang bisa dilewatkan melalui USB port tersebut? Lebih cepat mana apabila dengan menggunakan tranfer rate yang dari express card?

4. Berkenankah bung cahya memberikan saya link untuk mendownload fitur acer seperti Acer Arcade Deluxe tersebut.

5. Saya pernah baca di suatu forum untuk khusus pengguna acer aspire 4520, diantaranya mereka ada yang emncoba untuk meningkatkan "jatah" alokasi memori untuk GPU 4520 sampai mendekati angka 768. Apakah ini aman bung..?

1. Sebenarnya update BIOS aman-aman saja asal BIOS yang digunakan sesuai dengan motherboard/tipe laptop, dan mohon diperhatikan baterai harus dalam kondisi paling tidak 50% dan anda menggunakan power dari charger ketika melakukan update BIOS. kemungkinan masalah yang dialami teman anda adalah ketidak sesuaian BIOS dan tipe laptop, namun ada kemungkinan juga bahwa ketika sebelum update BIOS settingan SATA mode pada posisi "AHCI" dan setelah update BIOS settingan berubah ke "IDE" maka windows kemungkinan akan crash. masalah yang mungkin timbul lainnya adalah jika laptop dimatikan secara paksa atau mati secara tak sengaja ketika proses update BIOS sedang terjadi.

2. Jika option "Hibernation" tidak ada maka kemungkinan file "hiberfil.sys" pada C:\ hilang. Penyebab hilangnya file ini adalah karena tidak sengaja terhapus dengan dilakukannya "Disk Cleanup". Untuk meng-enable-kan hibernasi pada vista: Klik Start button (Orb), Klik All Programs, kemudian klik Accessories. Klik kanan pada Command Prompt kemudian pilih Run as administrator, jika disuruh memasukkan password, silahkan masukkan password atau Continue > kemudian ketikkan powercfg -h on untuk meng-enable-kan hibernasi.

3. Transfer rate USB 2.0 adalah 480 Mb/s, sedangkan Express Card bisa mencapai 1000 Mb/s (Max).

4. Aplikasi Acer Arcade tidak tersedia untuk di download secara langsung lewat internet, anda bisa mendapatkan aplikasi Acer Arcade jika membeli Laptop Acer dengan windows preinstalled (Windows diinstall oleh Acer) namun kemarin saya sudah menghubungi teman yang bekerja di Acer. tunggu saja, nanti kalau dapat, akan saya share disini, karena banyak yang menanyakan ;) hehe...

5. Aman-aman saja meningkatkan alokasi memory sampai segitu, asal RAM memenuhi. karena sebenarnya max-nya adalah 896Mb. 1. Untuk updated bios yang saya tanyakan kemaren itu sebenarnya untuk mengaktifkan hibernasi, akan tetapi tips dari bung cahya ternyata sudah dapat mengaktifkan fitur power hibernasi, jd sekarang saya bisa siap setiap saat tanpa harus nungguin lamanya startup vista.
Nah, karena hibernasinya sudah bisa digunakan, yang saya tanyakan berubah nih. Sebenarnya apa yang kita dapatkan setelah melakukan update BIOS tersebut? (Mungkin dari segi keuntungannya & kerugiannya)
Trus, dengan melakukan updated bios ini apa tidak merubah/mempengaruhi string-string registri di windows?

2. Link untuk mendapatkan driver yang sudah di tweak di Xtreme G tidak bisa dimasuki. Reportnya, "you have entered with Invalid IP address. Contact the web administrator"

3. Apakah ada baterai u seri 4520 yang special u mobile (daya tahan baterai sampai 4-5jam, mungkin baterai dengan 9 cell). Dimanakah saya bisa mendapatkannya? Lokasi saya di Surabaya. Saya sudah berusaha menanyakan ke Acer Point & Acer Shop yang ada di THR Mall, akan tetapi yang saya dapatkan "kurang tahu bapak..." :)
Apakah memang tidak ada baterai yang cocok dengan 4520 akan tetapi tahan sampai 4-5jam?

4. Saya coba u memainkan HALO 2 ke 4520, ternyata jalannya berat sekali. Kira2 spek game yang bagaimana yang bisa dimainkan ke 4520 ini? (GTA San Andreas, Warcraft III, Call of Duty 4, Doom 3, Crysis, R6 Vegas) soalnya dari core clock NGF7000M ini sudah mencukupi play dengan spek medium atau low.(sekitar 475Mhz, dan sudah mendukung antialiasing) Mohon Penjelasannya.

Hi Adrian, maaf baru sempat membalas comment, ada beberapa kesibukan yang menghantui saya akhir2 ini ;)

1. Update BIOS digunakan untuk memperbaiki bug yang mungkin ditemukan pada versi sebelumnya, bisa juga meningkatkan performa, misalnya membuat sebuah motherboard bisa dipasang RAM sampai 4GB padahal pada versi sebelumnya hanya sampai 2GB.

3. baterai replacement yang lebih kuat untuk laptop memang ada, namun mohon maaf, saya juga tidak pernah menemuinya. Saya tetap merekomendasikan tetap memakai sparepart original dari Acer.

4. Pada beberapa game yang anda sebutkan, saya baru mencoba yang GTA San Andreas, pada laptop saya dengan GPU Intel GMA 950, game ini lancar2 saja, saya kira dengan Nvidia 7000M maka akan lebih baik lagi. Sedangkan yang lain saya blm pernah mencobanya.

I have an Acer Aspire 4520 (1x turion 64b 2.2)
It came with xp and working fine. Had to format it because of a virus. Everything worked fine again.
The virus came back, I formatted it again. This time I cant get the wifi to wotk. First time I used the recovery DVD and worked fine. Now the same drive wont work. Installed the launcher manager, the buttons are working fine, bur wifi wont light up.
Windows also says that my the broadcom driver is corrupted or missing. can you help me?

i have install MS .net framwork 2.0 but when i try and install the ePower module it asks me to install MS .net framework 1.1 or higher! then aborts installation.

kalau dari acer sendiri hanya menyediakan eNet Management (Download) inipun untuk Windows Vista. Silahkan mencoba Empowering technology dari tipe acer yang lain.

Screensaver tidak bekerja? coba klik kanan di desktop, pilih Properties, klik tab Screen Saver (win XP).

Untuk windows Vista, masuk ke Control Panel, pilih Personalization, pilih Screen Saver, kemudian atur settingannya.

Part1 dan part2 itu bentuk filenya adalah *.rar, dan harus diekstrak bersama menjadi sebuah folder saja. Caranya, "Select" 2 buah file itu, kemudian, klik kanan dan lakukan ekstrak ke sebuah folder saja :)

Saya kira dari semua merk notebook tersebut bagus semua, kemungkinan kenapa beberapa teman mas wong mengatakan produk acer kualitasnya kurang bagus dikarenakan acer saat ini sering mengeluarkan tipe2 notebook yang "ekonomis" sehingga tercipta kesan bahwa produk acer itu kurang bagus... saya pernah menemui acer aspire 4315 yang benar2 aneh... jauh berbeda dengan aspire 4315 yang lain.... bahkan dari jenis plastiknya pun beda (tapi harga juga lebih murah)..
faktor harga menentukan sekali.. (apa yang akan dikatakan teman anda klo anda menggunakan Acer Ferrari, atau Acer Gemstone Blue !? pasti beda.. hehehe... ) jadi kesimpulannya pada level harga yang sama Acer enggak kalah sama merk yang lain :) bahkan performa mungkin lebih baik.

Hi TJ, did you install the correct drivers? try this (Aspire 4710 Win XP bluetooth driver-Download) and (Aspire 4710 Windows XP Audio driver-Download)

Its better if you make Dual boot Windows XP and Windows Vista

to install empowering technology first you need Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0(Download), then download empowering technology from acer site (for vista). You must download and install Acer Empowering Framework first.

Since eNet Management (Atheros - Win XP) is hard to find... I suggest to use default wireless application from Windows XP....

Yang jadi pertanyaan saya adalah gimana caranya membuat cd back up untuk OS nya ya….karena kuatir klo seandainya system crash dan hrs install ulang OS nya ga bisa karena ga ada software cd dan pada saat membeli tdk disertakan cd apapun baik driver apalagi OS nya sementara di body laptop terdapat label OS dari Microsoft. - XP 2: muncul pesan: only support to intel macem2 bla...blaaa... pdhal proserku intel celleron 2 GHz kemudian ganti ke Win Vista: selalu minta isntall acer framework, padahal udah diinstall sebelumnya, gimana ya??
akhirnya saya putuskan tdk install acer enet management.
saat konek internet sinyalnya "EXCELENT" tapi koq browsing sangat lambat (sering error) bahkan donlot kecepatannya hanya 1-2 kb apakah ini wajar untuk aspire 4315????

eNet Management yang anda install hanya untuk wireless Intel saja.

sinyal "EXCELLENT" hanyalah menunjukkan kualitas koneksi dari laptop ke AP (Access Point), sedangkan kecepatan download sangat ditentukan oleh besarnya tempat anda ngenet langganan internet ke ISP (Internet Service Provider), selain itu bisa juga oleh Network Administrator diatur bahwa untuk satu IP (Internet Protocol) hanya mendapatkan bandwidth segitu saja... jadi kecepatan download segitu sebenarnya juga normal2 aja untuk semua laptop ;)

Please uninstall "Crystal Eye" driver form Device manager until Windows XP detect it as USB Video Device or if uninstall doesn't work (windows XP still detect it as "Crystal Eye"), try to select Roll back driver

You must install empowering Technology Framework... first

no need Microsoft .Net framework 2.0 in vista :)

Tetapi setelah saya intall, muncul message "...Microsoft .NetFramework 1.1..."
Saya sudah coba download, dan pada saat akan saya install muncul message "... because the program to be upgrade ...". Yang saya install adalah Versi XP SP1, sedangkan saat ini saya menggunakan XP SP2, apakah ini penyebabnya?

Mohon petunjuk langkah-langkah instalasi yang benar dan info link untuk mendapatkan softwarenya (selain Empowering Acer).

Try to use this .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 (Download from FileFactory) 33,7Mb. I use it and its works... I

I don't know why the filesize is different from .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 from Microsoft's website.. but its works :)

First install that .NET Framework... then Acer Empowering Technology Framework... then the other ET software

i just brought a Acer Aspire 4920 (ms XP) which now i would like to install Acer Empowering Technology on it. i was inform that there is only available empowering technology for Aspire 4920 (ms Vista) & i could install another version Aspire model empowering technology for my ASpire 4920 (ms XP). could you recomend which other Aspire (ms XP) model empowering technology for my Aspire 4920 (ms XP) which can runs smoothly. thanks..........

Since Aspire 4920's hardware similiar with TravelMate 5720... try Empowering Technology from TravelMate 5720 (Download here)

Remove your laptop battery.... press power button for a few seconds... then insert the battery... done.. try it :)

i've tried installing empowering technology in my Aspire 4920 (Win XP). it works, but all of them. 1st u need to install microsoft.Net.framework 2.0. 2nd install Acer ET Framework 2.0 (2.03.2015), 3rd install ET ePower (2.00.2016)& 4th install ET Eperformance (2.200.2007). all of this 4 items works find. i also tried the ET eLocks & eNet which is for Travelmate 5720 (Win XP) but is not working & with errors. any updates i will let u guys know

i just found a site which has almost all the Acer notebook model downloads. from driver to empowering stuffs...u guys maybe know this site already.for those who didnt , try this
