after i reinstalled all the drivers taht i need, i stil have 3 items in the device manager that has the exclamation marks beside them

i have installed:
- audio driver
- webcam driver (?) not too sure :(
- intel chipset driver
- card reader driver
- LAN Broadcom driver
- Foxcom modem driver
- synaptics touchpad
- intel VGA
- Atheros wireless driver

i wonder what the other 3 devices are?

i dont think i have a bluetooth device but im gng to dl and install it anyways and see...

finger print... ?
try that all drivers ;) dont be afraid to install driver...

when i install the drivers for the sd card reader, windows freezes on shutdown, i reinstalled the computer 3 times, still freezing.

Any idea ?

when I install the driver "Webcam Suyin Driver" for the Acer Crystal Eye webcam the webcam works perfectly, but Windows XP cannot shut down properly anymore... it chrashes during shut down.

When I uninstall the driver everything is fine again, but still I'd like to use the latest driver for my webcam...

Any idea what the problem is?

Hi Hewei, please uninstall Acer Crystal Eye driver, until Windows XP detect it as USB Video Device

you may install the Crystal Eye application, but do not install the driver.

I think, this empowering technology will work in aspire 5720 :) just try it. and please let me know if you find a problem :)

All driver are compatible except Acer BioProtection, Finger Print driver, VGA ATI Radeon... (because the hardware is unavailable in aspire 5720)

Awesome links, tutorial has worked a treat on 2 laptops at work now.

Trying to connect to a wireless access point though is causing me problems. It will see the wireless network but simply will not connect. I have downloaded the Intel specific wireless tool for connecting and still wont work. Anyone else come across this problem?

are you sure it works on acer aspire 7520 cause i have amd on this computer and im not sure should i but intel stuff on it

This is for Aspire 5720 not 7520... do you need drivers for aspire 7520?

by the way, try this newest Realtek audio driver (Version R2.00 Download)

Thanks very much for answering me. I have tried that driver but audio card are not detected. I have unknow pci devices, I have also reinstalled XP software with the same problem.

thanks very much for answering, finally I found the problem. I tried to install audio driver with xp sp3 and driver audio is not ready for sp3. So I download xp sp to 2. and it works.

i have the same problem as faiz i installed all the xp drivers including fingerprint and bluetooth and i still have 3 base system devices unrecognized i even tried the intel chipset identification tool to see if the problem was with the chipset but still no luck i'd really appreciate if you could help with that. i'm about to plug my hair off ( those that remain XD). i am using xp sp3.

Hello again i used everest ultimate edition and found out what those system devices were. it was the memory card reader the driver is different than the one posted above i tried it and it worked perfectly this is the link for the druiver it works for xp :D

so you can install it but it doesn't work right?
as far as I know.. eRecovery will work if in your HDD the hidden partition from Acer is exist...
I don't know how to fix this problem.. but I will try find out...

Hi Saiful, try to change the channel of your wireless Access Point... (e.g if you use channel 6, try to change it to 12, or 13, and vice versa)

it's happened when you try to execute vista application in xp... btw try driver form UPDATE 3... :)good luck

or else the drivers of the travelmate 5330, are working fine for me, exept the wireless, i used the one in that link.

only one problem:
xp sp3 does't detect the bluetooth and i have a suposed usb pen always connected when i start windows.

I have acer aspire 5040, my hard disk is failed, I have bought new HDD and I am trying to install windows XP using backup CD (eRecovery). My bad luck, the 3 cd ( 3 out of 7) got correupted at Source 23 file. Copying stops as Data read fail".

I have purchase online eRecovery from Acer. Those guys have sent me 2 CD discs only, stiil system wants the 3 cd to continue with installation.

I have a Travelmate 5320 shippend with Vista Business.
I had downgrade it to XP Pro SP2 because it was really to slow.
I cannot install realtek audio driver (I always get an error during install). I tried to apply microsoft patch KB888111 before installing realtek driver but it is not better.

I enter to the bios and i change the bios password
it askme the old password, i writed, then ask me for the new password i leave the space in blank, just a enter and in the confirm password i leave in blank the space too just a enter.
the i saved and my laptop restart and askme for the bios password
so i leave it in blank and mark me an error the i put the old password and mark me error so now i cant use my laptop
i cant use windows and needer enter to the bios to modify the password.
can you help me to see if acer got a supervisor password...
