UPDATE 3 :
Anonymous said… i tried this steps, it works but the problem is the bass quality sound its really bad, sound like a can. i think needs some drivers same with the vista. can someone have the acer eaudio for windows xp. thanks...

Try this :

1. Right click on speaker icon... open volume control

2. Make sure that "subwoofer" is listed on Master Volume window

3. If not, click Options > Properties , make subwoofer appear on Master Volume window....

4. Then please lower the level on subwoofer .....

UPDATE 4 :
Anonymous said… hi guys i have the same problem but i did notice that in the windows sound mixer subwofer doesnt affect the tuba instead playng with the earphones slider changes the tubas volume so im thinking the driver is sending the tuba the wrong chanel anyone got any ideas on corecting this

if "Subwoofer" in UPDATE 3 doesn't work, try to adjust volume level of "Internal Subwoofer" or something sounds like that.... blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com
and you must use sound driver from Acer.. . (Download here)

and...

try this :

1. Right click on speaker icon... open volume control

2. Click Options > Advanced Controls

3. Click Advanced button

4. Advanced Controls for Master Volume will appear..... this screenshot was not taken from Aspire 6920G/8920G, so some of these settings may be different, I hope you can make some adjustment and make Acer Tuba CineBass Booster better on Windows XP.
blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

and I think Acer Tuba CineBass Booster is not a true subwoofer... it's just a bass booster for laptop...blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

****!!THIS WORKS!!**** - I ran Driver Genius Professional Edition and it provided me with the driver I needed to get the bass working on my computer.

I have uploaded it here:
realtek_hdaudio_226_xp.zip -
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=b2beecda489aa05e6e7203eb87368129e04e75f6e8ebb871

Once installed and your system has rebooted, open Realtek HD Audio Manager from the task bar and click the Mixer tab. Scroll the Playback section to the right to display additional controls. Crank the subwoofer control up to the desired setting and volia, you have bass!

Still doesn't sound as good as the sound on my old Inspiron 9300 but its way better than it was sounding without the bass. Also, I'm left very disappointed with Acer's tech support as the only option they left me with was paying $60 for a half hour of support which may or may not have solved my problem, and if they couldn't solve my problem, I still would have been charged. Apparently downgrading the OS voids Acer’s warranty. Acer's tech support is apparently just as lame as Vista.

Also, in the Bass Managment Setting tab, crank the LFE (sub) up to 10.

Thank you.... Jay... btw to make sure the driver will available forever, this is mirror for "realtek hdaudio 226 xp" (Download)

Well i used both (the one in the link and the newest one from realtek site) on vista and both on xp. both work perfectly on vista both don't work on xp (referring to sub).. so it's not the drivers it's the software that comes with the xp pack as opposed to the software the comes with the vista pack which has internal sub support. although i did manage to get a volume control switch for "internal" sub on xp it still makes no difference on max or min.

    Hi guys!

    THANKS!
I have referred to these 'XP to 6920G' guides so many times in the last few months, many thanks to Cahya and the gang, and everyone who has shared information.

    CINEBASS:
I have spent hours searching for a solution to the massively inadequate speaker issues on XP, and can find nothing.

Not only does the Cinebass Tuba 'subwoofer' remain inactive under XP, but the playback volume is so quiet that you can't hear it over a conversation. People who have tried various Youtube clips will know what I mean!

Shouldn't we rename this page? Every time I find it in Google my heart skips a beat :)

As far as I know, there is currently NO WAY to enable the Acer Cinebass Booster under XP.

    DUAL BOOT:
I run my Windows x64 and Vista Ultimate on my 6920G, and this is largely thanks to these guides. If there is any system data I can provide to help Cahya or others, let me know.

CINEBASS TUBA SUBWOOFER NOT POSSIBLE ON 6920G XP

    Hi Guys.

Ash here - I posted on 23rd October regarding this issue.
I'm sorry to say that I have not been able to find any drivers that will enable the tuba subwoofer for XP on the 6920g.

Don't bother with the suggestions made above. Tweaking the realtek graphic equalizer will make a little difference to the overall sound eminating from the two main speakers, but the subwoofer will remain inactive.

But please, someone prove me wrong!! :)

I just reinstalled XP Media Center SP3 on my 6920G, installed the 5920G audio driver, and I have NO SOUND at all, the driver works, but my ears are working fine and I'm sure I hear nothing. I used to use the realtek drivers in xp posted on this blog site, but I have the same problem as everyone else, only 2 speakers work, no bass. This is really annoying, I haven't been able to solve this problem, anyone else found a solution yet???

Hi there, I have an Acer Aspire 7730G. I downloaded the drivers which were provided from this site (but another link), Thanks for that!

Anyhows, to get to the point: I am not able to enable the Bass drivers on XP. My laptop has Vista pre-installed with vista Bass drivers (Eaudio).

See the screenshot below for more info: http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p122/DaGrooveNL/Bass_drivers.jpg

    Thanks in advance!

To clarify my previous post, the link I provide shows that the Bass drivers work under Vista. Under XP Subwoofer is grayed out. I also downloaded and installed the latest drivers > no success.
Downloaded the hdaudio.zip package provided from this site > no success.

If you need additional screenshots, I can provide them to you.

    Thanks in advance!

Where did you get the bass drivers from? I have vista 64bit and eaudio management seems to just do nothing for me, i upgraded from 32 bit, where each time i clicked a different profile e.g. movie or music, it would come up stating virtual surround on or virtual surround off. However it doesnt do this anymore, any help would be appreciated.

I downloaded the Bass-drivers from the Acer website. However, they will only work on Vista x86 (32bit). I do not have the bass-drivers for vista x64. Do you know where I can find the bass-drivers (which actually work) for XP x86 ?

everytime my computer starts i always get a message saying hd audio stopped responding??
XP, Vista? seem to be having driver problems both ways! acer need to sort this out!

I got the bass to work on my 6920g, I went to acers website and into the download drivers section looking in the divers for the 6530. I did this because I noticed there is a tube under the screen on this model and I thought it would have been their earliest 6000 series notebook with possible xp options. It just so happens that if you click the drop down for the operating system (which is right under where you select the model) you will see that windows XP is selectable. So you can select XP as an operating system and then download the audio driver.

For me, installing this driver added "internal subwoofer" as a slider in my mixer options. This brought all the bass power back when I would slide it up to the top.

    ** 6530 Audio driver WORKS !! **

I've tried a least 20 drivers to solve my 6920G bass sound issue, all without luck. Having read the above two postings being a bit skeptic about it, I figure, doesn't hurt to try. So I went to www.acer.com & to the support & download section, selected "laptop" --> "Aspire" --> "6530" --> "XP" --> "Sound Driver". Installed it, turned up my speakers, to my surprised, it worked. I was almost in tears, because 6920G wasn't exactly a cheap laptop, after missing the bass sound for almost a year, it's finally back.

So, spread the words Aspire 6530 sound driver will cure the CineBass issue!

Running Windows XP SP3 on Aspire 8930G. Everything works great EXCEPT the bass. The sound quality is so poor I hardly want to listen to music on it. I have read every thread on the subject I can find and installed countless Acer drivers for various modes as well as Realtek drivers and have had no success. I'm down to thinking the problem is not having Acer eAudio installed -- and as far as I can tell, it is not available for Windows XP. Any suggestions?
