I think you have problem with "ACPI" things...

btw, I don't know why, but Empowering Technology for Vista is unavailable on Acer Euro, but you may use Empowering Technology from Aspire 5930 (Vista Download here), for XP (download here)

if Empowering Technology doesn't solve your problem try to update your BIOS..
Download BIOS for Aspire 4930 (Download here)

From Acer:

what OEM = Acer? Dell? Compaq?

I think your Vista OEM doesn't match with Acer BIOS. so it needs an activation.

Hi Curt, maybe there is something wrong with the driver, so, please restart your notebook, then during booting, press F8 to go to "Safe Mode", in safe mode, please uninstall the driver or restore your Vista using system restore :)

or... remove your battery, press power button for a few seconds, insert the battery, go to safe mode or boot normally to windows (if possible)

Yes it is, Windows XP can't detect sata on AHCI mode, this is sata ahci dos driver (Download)

or, simply go to BIOS then change sata mode from AHCI to IDE... (in case you want to use IDE instead of sata AHCI)

I kind of feel its a bios problem or a motherboard problem. is there a way to disable the RTC clock so that the bios is reset? I really hope there can be an answer that won't involve R&M... Although i have reinstalled the Win XP, I'm still unable to get it working... the unknown PCI device is still in the Device Manager. :-(

I've managed to get the AUDIO working! Just download the UAA from Microsoft and install (for those on SP1 and SP2). However, for those with XP SP3, the EXE installer will not work, you will need a workaround - use WINRAR or something to EXTRACT the DLLs,INFs and install these manually.

That's all there is.

Hi Curt, try to repair your Vista... boot from Vista DVD, then select Repair... Vista will detect and repair the problem...

Acer doesn't release driver for XP SP3..
please download from this post and try it :). If you have a problem or the driver is not compatible with XP SP3, write a comment here and I will give you newer version of the driver.. I hope it will compatible with XP SP3

Hi Carlos, on installation process, when it said "No Bluetooth Hardware detected" keep continue the installation, don't click cancel or something like that..... (I try this on Aspire 4520)

Hi Stevens, so you can use your webcam before MSN 9.0 installed..... try to uninstall that thirdparty software first, then reninstall webcam driver and application...
there are three drivers available for webcam, select one compatible driver for your webcam.
When I use uncompatible driver (and Cyberlink YouCam as third party software), I can use my webcam (For Yahoo Messenger) but when I tried to open Crystal Eye Application, there are two application opened, Cyberlink YouCam and Crystal Eye Application.. it looks that I have a software crash or something. But it's not happen when I use compatible driver for my webcam.

This is happened too with aspire 4520 (my friend), he has problem with sound if bluetooth driver installed.... this problem solved after he reinstall windows and choose to not install bluetooth driver. but because he need the bluetooth, he tried to reinstall windows, but use another Windows XP CD... (different release date), then all problems solved, now he can use bluetooth and audio..

when you installing Adobe Flash Player, you must close internet browser such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, etc

1st, I can't use windows update anymore..
error code 8024402C always appear when I try to download the updates..

if it from speaker, and if it so loud.. it's not normal

please reinstall xp (use ahci mode) because you should use same sata mode for your dual boot.. if you use ahci mode for vista, you must use ahci mode for xp... follow this guide (slipstreaming ahci driver into windows xp cd via nLite) ...

or you may use ide mode for both vista and xp... when you want to use ide mode, you must reinstall vista (use ide mode)..

i really need ur help with my aspire 4930! recently i tried to install my acer wif Ubuntu. but it doesnt work. then i change my bios setting to read from my DVD. apparently, after saving the bios settings, my laptop keep on restarting with BSOD! i tried to "disable restart (sumthg like dat)" on f8 button pressed. it says sumthg like i had a problem with my hardware. i even had done the microsoft diagnostic tools, but still didnt work. i couldnt even start my laptop using cmd prompt! any suggestion? btw..im running on bios v1.6...
please reply back asap.

Mr Cahya, my problem is WLAN hangs after sometimes. Have to "repair" connection to connect internet.
Any ideas. I have updated the intel wireless Lan driver but problem exists. It shows intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN. I have tried Athros and broadcom if these might solve the problem but it doesnt.

download VGA Intell in this site and here the solution

1.install microsoft uaa&restart PC(a found new hardware was detect..right?..cancel first)
2.install modem driver
3.install audio driver(after that will be detect Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus..right?)
4.go to device manager,highlight Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus click,
choose install driver/update driver,and select the driver from VGA Intell and there a folder HDMI..
i was successfully do it with windows xp sp2..for those use win xp sp3 i don't know it's work/not

I think.. you can :) but you need to change boot sequence on BIOS when you want to boot from external HD or USB HD...

i really need ur help with my aspire 4930! recently i tried to install my acer wif Ubuntu. but it doesnt work. then i change my bios setting to read from my DVD. apparently, after saving the bios settings, my laptop keep on restarting with BSOD! i tried to "disable restart (sumthg like dat)" on f8 button pressed. it says sumthg like i had a problem with my hardware. i even had done the microsoft diagnostic tools, but still didnt work. i couldnt even start my laptop using cmd prompt! any suggestion? btw..im running on bios v1.6...
please reply back asap.

i found that d default setting for my bios is AHCI..
so i decided to change it to IDE n it works fine!!

If your WLAN device is Intel, do not install another driver like atheros or broadcom... try to update WLAN Intel driver (Download 5 Jan 2009)

Open Device Manager...
is it has an unkonwn device?
if yes.. may be it is the Nvidia vga...
if not please contact place where you bought your laptop to make sure that your laptop has nvidia VGA or not...

No you can't... you have two alternatives here...

1. Ask your network administrator to change the Channel (e.g if now wifi at your campus use channel 11, change it to 7)
sometime an Intel WLAN not fully compatible with channel 11-13
2. Buy an external USB Wifi... ;)

Open your Device Manager...
is WLAN Device detected?
if not, install the driver for it

is WLAN Device enabled?
if not, please enable it
by press wifi button...

If your laptop is a "Centrino" system.. then the Wifi must be Intel... try install Intel Driver

btw.. eAudio just for Vista.. for XP you can use Realtek Control Panel
you will able to use eRecovery only if your HDD has hidden partition from Acer... and you must restore Acer boot record...

Go to BIOS... change the setting to Max DVMT....

use Kingston or Corsair...
I think it is ok to use memory with higher frequency than default provided by Acer... as long it not make a "Bottleneck" effect with chipset and processor. but please contact your local acer service center to make sure it is ok and not violating warranty TOS

Have i lost all the home theater audio options when i install XP as now no empowerment technology. Seems like i have lost all the advantages of the hardware because i have not stayed with Vista. Does this mean if i want to use all the soft keys and hardware i need to re-instal Vista as acer Aspire 4930G has been designed to really run on Vista for max preformance rather than XP

For aspire 4930 All "home theater"... Dolby digital live and many other audio options won't disappear... it just different menu interface on realtek audio control panel (but on aspire with cine tuba bass e.g Aspire 6920, it has a problem with tuba volume)... and "soft keys" did you mean "Quick Launch button"?
you still can use them on XP :)

and... I think you will experience "Max Performance" on XP better than on Vista (especially for games):) but why not try to use Dual Boot system?

i've problem with standby mode. i'm now using acer aspire 4930
windows xp professional sp2. After running standby mode, it appears just only background and mouse can be used normally. But toolbar and icons are disappeared and i cannot run any program.

4935 driver, for modem driver d/l vista driver from acer europe website, it's compatible with xp. while there don't forget to d/l launch manager v2.0.3.4004., the rest try d/l from the top page.

I bought acer aspire 4930, two days back. I installed winXP in it. now in system properties it is showing intel core2duo T5800 @2.0 GHz 1.2GHz. that means its working at 1.2 GHz.

my acer similiar with u core2duo p7350@2.0ghz = same with t5800@2.0ghz...i use windows xp to (xp sp 2 downgrade from sp 3)with 3gb ram
but my properties showing core2duo p7350 @2.0 GHz 1.9GHz, 2,93Gb of Ram...........i think ur xp trouble...or u can check bios setting

Seems like no hardware problem detected at Device Manager. It not work with both Alps & Synaptics driver. Try to run KNOPPIX & Symantec Ghost to confirm either my touchpad wad dead but it run fine on it. Probably problem with my WinXpSP2 installation or insufficion tools. Could you advice? I have a problem with my Acer 4930. I have installed both 32bit and 64bit Windows Vista but cannot crack it at all. i have used several cracks available on the internet. I think that one of the cracks damaged something in my 4930 (probably the bios but i'm not sure). One of my friends also bought a 4930 from the same supplier and has used one of the cracks that i have used and it was successfully cracked. When i tried the same crack on a fresh copy of windows vista i just installed on my 4930, it doesnt crack.

saya mohon perbandingan saja, sampai saat ini laptop saya baik2 saja, namun ada yg mengganjal dengan laptop ini...pada panel kiri bawah (kira2 di hardisk) selalu terdengar suara krrrkk...krrrkk setiap loading file, ato kira2 saat membaca hardisk.

mohon perbandingannya, apakah pemakai acer yg lain juga sama atau hardisk saya yang rusak ?? help me

Can I increase share vga from RAM.....
Such 285mb be 668mb or another...........

im tokmoh from malaysia.. i got mic problem.. if driver audio installted (realtek high definision audio), mic will be problem.. noisy so high.. so didnt hear anything when i speak out.. but if im using default audio driver.. it work fine.. so how to solve it??

I just bought ACER4930 without an OS, it currently has Linpus 2.6.25 version OS however it is not allowing me to format the OS so that I can install winXP.

Can you help me with this.

i have acer aspire 4925 with windows vista home premium sp1...do u have the driver that i can installed it one,not per driver... i means like gigabyte... just clicked one setup you can install all of the driver.... do u have any link that i can download it...

Namun waktu menggunakan IDE, windows vistanya g bisa booting, Gmn caranya agar saya bisa nginstal linux tapi ngga merusak vistanya yang asli ini??

nah ..supaya "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" kagak kena pentung lagi, coba langkah yg dah dikasi ma master Cekone+Cahaya :

after install audio driver..a driver i was found in intel vga driver,
for those use vga intell only),in the folder HDMI..
download VGA Intell in this site and here the solution

1.install microsoft uaa&restart PC(a found new hardware was detect..right?..cancel first)
2.install modem driver
3.install audio driver(after that will be detect Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus..right?)
4.go to device manager,highlight Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus click,
choose install driver/update driver,and select the driver from VGA Intell and there a folder HDMI..
i was successfully do it with windows xp sp2..for those use win xp sp3 i don't know it's work/not

My Acer Aspire 4925 was working perfectly till a few days ago... when only a black screen appears with a blinking cursor! Ive tried reinstalling WinXP but a BSOD appears! Tried using USB disk --- still no luck! Used Hiren Boot CD but to no avail.... please help..

I have an aspire 4930G ,and it past a year from when i bought it,and i formated my hard drive and reinstalled my OS and i had no problems with nothing everything it works fine,all installed and all tested,no problems.I suggest to use Windows Vista because is made for this kind of OS.I mentinon that i used allsaw Windows Xp and Linux but i had problems with drivers and compatibiliti and..

is there any new drivers? like for the VGA card?
and why when searching on acer site the aspire 4930G doesn't exist even?

Gua pake Aspire 4925 Core2Duo T7500 2,2GHZ, Intel Chipset Mobile 4, waktu gua update driver graphicnya GM45 dari intel donlot center V1688, layar jadi ngeblank 1-3 detik trus muncul message "igfx has stop responding and has been recovered", kira- kira kenapa ya pak? oya, gua pake VISTA home premium SP2.
