Hello,
Can you please post drivers for Acer Aspire 5735z?
I made mine work by using the drivers of Acer Travelmate 5730, but i feel just if something was wrong, since it just asks for tremendous amounts of energy, my battery doesn't stand for more than 1 hour.
And now i am wondering if juste good drivers could resolve that, or i need to install acer empowering technology...
Anyway, thank you buddy, you are doing some awesome work.
I would be glad to help you set a new free hosted real dotclear based blog, keep in touch, i'll be around waitin for your answer ;)

I was just wondering if you have the XP drivers set for the Acer Aspire Laptop (5730Z, 5735-4774) from Best Buy this Sunday (12/7/2008). I would be so appreciated if you can do me this favor, also there are meny people like me bought the same laptop today, and trying to downgrade to XP instead of Vista that came with the laptop. Thanks so much!

I want to send out a huge thanks - I bought my 5735 yesterday and was on the hunt for these XP Drivers.
One question, where is the (or when can I get it from) SATA Driver for XP (for my slip-stream approach much like the one you have illustrated for the 5370 here http://komku.blogspot.com/2008/11/acer-aspire-5730-aspire-5330-windows-xp.html where you supply the required SATA XP Driver.)
The HD in my 5735 is a "Hitachi HTS543216L9A300 ATA Device"
Someones support would be most greatfully received.
I would require the SATA XP Driver to create the required XP SlipStream Install Disk in order to successfully install XP (as we all know XP fails to recognize the SATA HD's.)
In advance - I thank you, your work is STERLING!

Hi anonymous... you can use this sata ahci driver (Download)
don't forget to follow this guide (slipstream driver with nlite)

Apolgoies for the REPORT above, I didn't realised you had answered my inital POST at the top of the PAGE.

Thanks for the SATA driver, I will try that and post back here later.

In advance in the nlite process for adding the SATA drivers - is it possible to add all of the XP drivers which you have enlisted above - or would I need to install these Drivers post XP installation?

    Thanks

It is better to install it post XP installation....
btw, after windows installation, install chipset driver first...

Have you tried another WLAN driver such as Atheros, Intel, and Ralink yet?

if your laptop is Centrino system, then the wifi must be Intel... if not a Centrino system, try atheros, or ralink.

Hello. Thanks for all above sharing. They were really useful. I installed Win XP on my 5735 model and also all the required drivers. But I would like to address three issues I faced after installation and would be very grateful if somebody helps me.
1 - When I run 'dxdiag' to look at my system resources I see that the memory of graphic card is 256 Mb instead of 1308 Mb that it was supposed to be with Vista installation.
2 - I see that my backup battery gets discharged to quickly (~1 hour or less). Is this a general problem with these series or I need to install any program to manage this.
3 - When I view my RAM memory from windows (dxdiag) it is 3000 Mb. When I see from BIOS it is 4096 Mb. If this 1000 Mb is shared for any hardware what may it be? (remember my graphic card takes only 256 Mb with XP).
Waiting for your promt reply. Thanks again

    1. Intel VGA has Intel® Dynamic Video Memory Technology (DVMT)... it is a method for dynamically allocating system memory for use as graphics memory to balance 2D/3D graphics and system performance. If your computer is configured to use DVMT (go to BIOS > set to Max DVMT), graphics memory is allocated based on system requirements and application demands (up to the configured maximum amount). When memory is no longer needed by an application, the dynamically allocated portion of memory is returned to the operating system for other uses.

    2. do not use "Maximum Performance" profile when you not need it... Change the setting on Windows XP power management... or install ePower Management for XP

    3. 32bit Windows XP will only able to see about 3Giga RAM (Vista 32bit will see 4Giga RAM but will only able to use 3Giga)... to use all 4Giga RAM you need to use 64Bit Operating System....

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program "

    and after that the message:

"Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you were in the middle of something ... etc etc "

I've searched in many forums to get the solution but with no success. I've tried this steps:
1 - Opened in safe mode (pressing F8) but the error still appeared
    2 - Run sfc.exe /scannow but no errors
3 - Increased my virtual memory
4 - Finally I installed SP3 as this was suggested by someone but the problem still isn't fixed.

I read that some user had uninstalled the latest driver installed and the problem got resolved,
but unfortunately I don't remember which driver I installed before I got the above errors.
Can you suggest me something else I could try. Thanks

Just got a 5735z and converted over to XP. Thanks so much for the drivers, and especially for the tips on the audio patch/driver install sequence. That saved me a lot of troubleshooting. Cheers!

For anonymous@11:31 asking about the bluetooth error...some 5735 models (like mine) do not have a bluetooth radio, but the button is still there. Sorry, but if there is no bluetooth radio, no driver will help and the button is not functional. You could easily add bluetooth with a usb bluetooth device.

Hi, I got the Aspire 5735Z but my windows vista was Danish, so I installed an English version and installed all the drivers that you have uploaded here. I still have several problems..like there's a button beyond the escape button which doesn't work [Acer empowering Technology "The system cannot find the files specified" ] this is what I receive. The other thing is with the display adapter where the Standard VGA Graphics adapter enconters a problem..and respectfully there is a problem with the Video Controller. If you can support any solution to my problems it would be perfect ;)

Many thanks for you help. I appear to have got everything working apart from the ACHI drivers one installer says you dont meet min system requirements and I believe another stated I required Vista to install.

Another driver also had no .exe file and device manager didnt recognize the folder as containing any driver files?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

download and use this sata ahci driver (Download)
to slipstream it to Windows XP CD follow this guide (slipstream driver with nlite)

or you may try to change sata mode to IDE mode over BIOS... (XP will easily detect the HDD) follow this guide

If any of you are still trying to figure out how to get sound working on the aspire 5735 here is what I did to get it going...
I installed the microsoft hotfix (the second one posted that I actually downloaded from microsoft) and then installed the realtek audio driver and rebooted. Still no sound and no sound device recognized in the control panel. I went to the device manager (right click on my computer and select properties) and noticed that there was a PCI device that was not recognized. If you have installed the chipset driver and have a device unrecognized it is probably the sound card. To fix the problem I right-clicked on the unrecognized device and uninstalled it and rebooted.

On reboot windows finds the hardware and asks if it can connect to windows update to find the best driver. Select yes. On the next screen select install the driver automatically. Windows update recognizes the hardware and installs the driver you already have. Continue to go through this process until all devices are installed.

    Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me. I've recently bought an Acer Aspire 5735Z, and am yet another person that wants to roll back to XP. Anyway, I have installed XP (service pack 3), everything ok apart from wireless issues. It sees the wireless router and even connects - seems to work fine for about 2 minutes and then grinds to a halt!

I'm just wondering if I need different drivers for XP SP3?

Thanks in advance for any help...I'm desperate!
