Open device manager... is there any "USB Video Device" in device list? or you may try to install Vista Camera driver for Aspire 4736z (Download here) please make sure that you use "Troubleshoot compatibility" before install it.. good luck

normally all windows version (XP/Vista/7) will easily detect a CD/DVD-rom...
try to reinstall the OS...

at my acer 4520 , every drivers is working while i chose to search from vista driver dvd disc.
The annoying is at the resolution : only detect and work in 1024X768 px and 26hz refresh rate for the lcd ( detect as pnp generic bla bla bla) I've tried compability troubleshoot you post here, but still working at that resolution.

Just heard from acer about my travelmate 6292. They say they do not support changing operating systems and to reinstall xp.

I installed win7 last week. No LAN, usb ports, camera, card reader, or fingerscanner. The only thing that worked fresh from the install was the wireless networking. I couldn't upgrade the bios, no vista drivers would work (even with various flavors of compatibility), and now they say to revert.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I have an Acer Aspire 8930G, and have just purchased and installed W7 Ultimate x64. (I used to have Windows Vista Home Premium x32 on this before)..

Everything seems to work fine so far except 1 thing totally and one thing halfway..

1. I can`t find the audio driver (realtek) driver for this version. I`ve tried installing several different Vista drivers for the soundcard, but no success.. I`ve tried contacting Acer, but no response.. What can I do?

2. Fingerprint reader. Works sometimes well, but after installing W7 I have sever problems to get my fingerprints recognized.. strange..

I have a Acer which I just tried to load Windows 7 on and my CD/DVD driver is not working; after talking with Acer there is a problem with Windows 7 not updating the drivers. They are sending me a new set of disks to reset my system back to Vista. Then once Windows 7 gets all the bugs worked out then will have to try again at a later date.

I am running win7 on Acer Aspire 4710 Laptop. All drivers and bios of my laptop are up-to-date but I have a problem with win7:
when I hibernate or sleep my laptop and then resume it and then I try to restart the laptop,win7 turn my laptop off and then turn it on but the Bios does not load hardware and the display does not show anything (does not show Acer Bios Logo) and laptop does not boot OS. After 3 second my laptop restart again and in this time bios loads hardware(show Acer Bios Logo) and boot the OS.
this problem occurs only when I sleep or hibernate my laptop and resume it from hibernate or sleep and then restart it. If I turn on my laptop and do not hibernate or sleep it, it will restart correctly and without any problem.
in win XP I did not have such this problem.
what can I do for solving this problem?

-Fn+F1
-Fn+F2
-Fn+F3
-Fn+F5
-Euro and Dollar buttons near arrow keys
-AltGr
-AltGr+5 (to make euro)
-Empowering button (every empowering driver but enet management can be installed)
-Arcade seluxe button (I have install arcade deluxe, and it run perfectly, but you can't start it from keyboard button)

My laptop is an Acer Aspire 9423 WSMi with a 17" WXGA screen running Vista Ultimate. Now I did an upgrade to Windows 7 Proffesional and the max resolution for my screen is to low (1024X768) because a generic VGA adapter is chosen.
I tried your procedure but it gave an error (Het systeem voldoet niet aan de minimale eisen - he system does not apply to the minimal demands) and troubleshooting: issues found: incompatible application

I own a Acer Travelmate 3004WTMi. I put a new harddisk with 320GB into the notebook and installed Windows 7 Professional. After the installation i found the following problems: Cardreader, Audio, Fn-Functions. Acer tells on the offical support page, that there are only XP drivers for the TM3000. After some searching, i could find this page: http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/tm_3000.html with Vista drivers ! I installed the drivers for Cardreader, Audio and Fn-Functions. Now the TM3004 runs fine with Windows 7. Only Aero can not be enabled.

Problem solved. Thanks Mathias. I went to http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_9420.html and selected a Video driver for Vista (VGA_Nvidia_v98.08_Vistax32). After installing and rebooting my resolution went back to 1440 x 900.
